SCIENCE IMPROVING PRODUCTION

Acree commercializes plasma technology in the fields of thin film coatings and material science, including sales of specialized equipment used in these fields. Acree offers:

Complete Deposition Systems

Acree Technologies fabricates complete deposition systems. The finished product is a turn-key, computer controlled, fully automated system custom built for your specific application.

  • Highest quality fabrication
  • Customized coating and process to meet your specific needs; the coating is seamlessly integrated with the deposition process
  • Engineered for your recipe; computer control gives you the ability to make changes to any step of the recipe
  • Delivers a 100% repeatable process
  • Value- the cost is typically less than an "off the shelf" system; yet your custom system will outperform the "stock" coater.
  • Scientific research required to develop your coating
  • Coating of prototypes (testing available, but we typically return the parts to the client for them to test)
  • Fabrication of all required equipment

Of course you also benefit from Acree’s expertise. We have built numerous systems, and we have detailed understanding of each component, having built it from the ground up.

"THINK BIG, START SMALL, AND SCALE FAST."

Under this model, Acree will perform your production coating in-house until your sales volume justifies the investment in your own system. Acree will then build your own turn-key, fully automated deposition system. This includes full transfer of production recipes, special equipment, and acquired knowledge about your project. Our model allows you to benefit from PVD coatings before incurring significant capital expense. It also eliminates a long start-up period prior to full scale production.

Power Supplies for Pulsed Cathodic Arc Deposition Processes

Acree offers Pulsed Power Supplies (PPS) for powering pulsed coating systems and other applications. Acree’s PPS supplies deliver 100’s of volts to kilovolts and 100’s of amps to kiloamps of electrical power to plasma sources. We build our PPS supplies to meet our customer’s specifications. If it’s kilojoules of energy, high peak current or rep-rate demands, Acree can custom build a PPS to match your needs. Our pulsed power supplies are used in pulsed PVD coating systems, aerospace research and as trigger sources for DC cathodic arc systems. They are simple, robust and powerful. The typical PPS supply for a pulsed cathodic arc deposition system runs at 700 volts and delivers 1,000 amps with a pulse width of 500 µs and a repetition rate of 100 Hz. The voltage is adjustable and our PPS supply can be preset to stop after a number of pulses, allowing precise control of film thickness. Or it can be externally triggered by the customer’s system.
